I fully recovered from my own prior severe health issues by using holistic approaches, including nutrition, lifestyle interventions, nervous system regulation exercises and limbic system work – exactly the kind of approaches that IHF uses. This experience sparked my passion for helping others through their own complex health challenges using these innovative and integrative approaches.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Kinesiology & Health Science in order to connect the mind and the body. I am currently a naturopathic medical student with the goal of eventually becoming a naturopathic doctor to support peoples’ wellbeing holistically. Coaching people through limbic system work and nervous system regulation practices is a separate, non-medical passion of mine, and it is a privilege to walk this path with clients. I also earned a Certificate in Health Coaching Conversations from Imperial College London, have years of personal and professional experience with breathwork and mind-body and somatic exercises, and have completed training in various forms of counselling, including Motivational Interviewing and working with subconscious parts of ourselves through Parts Work.
I have also learned many tools and resources from dozens of worldwide professionals and countless webinars. Now that I have travelled back from the depths of illness equipped with this knowledge, I am here to help others feel like themselves again too. I am committed to shining a light upon the darkness to help clients find their way from where they are to where they want to be.
What is the biggest hurdle that you’ve overcome?
Recovering my health after about a decade of having very severe health issues that made it challenging for me to do even the most basic things. I learned countless lessons, including that it is so entirely possible to recover, that our minds and bodies are designed to heal, that it is so important to maintain hope, that we can have more control over our own healing than we may have believed, and that holistic approaches to wellness hold so much promise to help us feel like ourselves again.
Who is your biggest motivation?
I draw so much motivation and inspiration every day from the many amazing people in my life, including my friends and family, who remind me every day that we can make meaningful differences in the world and support each other through all that life holds. I also find motivation from clinicians and aspiring clinicians who are committed to finding the best solutions for their clients, and from the clients who commit to their wellbeing every day and who share the benefits of doing this holistic work together. I also draw a lot of motivation from remembering how far I’ve come, that there is so much power within each of us to create the beautiful life we want to live, and from remembering that anything is possible and that there are opportunities within every moment.
